2025 Maine Bold Coast
Photography Workshops

Details
Tuition: $1450
Location: Lubec, Maine
Physical Fitness Required: Moderate hiking on rugged coastal trails, hills, and loose rock beaches.
All workshops are 3 nights with a max capacity of 6 students.
Join photographer Adam Woodworth along the Bold Coast of Maine in Lubec, a small fishing village which also happens to be the easternmost town in the US. With lighthouses, rugged ocean cliffs, dark night skies, bald eagles, seals, and whales, this is an amazing place to photograph!
We will also drive over the bridge to Campobello Island, part of Canada, for a sunset trip -- so bring your passport! If you don't have a passport you can get over to Campobello with a copy of your birth certificate and driver's license.
Be prepared for possibly very cold weather! While recent winters have been warmer here, it is still possible that it could be 10F or colder in December, just as easily as it could be 50F.
Milky Way Note: The Galactic Core of the Milky Way will NOT be fully visible this time of the year in Maine, but we will be able to get the fainter part of the Milky Way over the lighthouse similar to the photo at the top of this page.
This workshop is held in the tourism off-season, meaning there will be very few placess open to eat in Lubec. Water Street Tavern might be open for dinner Friday/Saturday, but Sunday we are on our own from the grocery store or with pizza, sandwiches, and similar items from the gas station in Lubec. Similar for breakfast, Narrow Escape Cafe might be open with breakfast sandwiches but otherwise there is the grocery store and gas station. Machias is about 35 minutes away with some restaurants open all year.
REGISTRATION: Read EVERYTHING on this page first, you will find the reservation request form at the bottom of the page.

Physical Difficulty
Moderate hiking on rugged coastal trails with steep sections, hills, and loose rock beaches.
We may do a bit of hiking during some days, possibly 2-4 miles round trip depending on the schedule. This is on rugged coastal trails with exposed roots, rocks, and small hills. Other days there will be little or no hiking.
At night we do far less hiking but it can still be uneven or rocky terrain. All night spots we visit are short hikes, half mile or so one way, unless the group is up for a longer hike.
Please advise me of any mobility issues.
DISCLAIMER
I obviously can make no guarantees that the weather will cooperate! This workshop is held rain or shine. But we will have plenty of things to photograph in this beautiful area.
